Stone Temple Pilots were able to turn alternative rock into stadium rock; naturally, they became the most critically despised band of their era. Accused by many critics of being nothing more than ripoff artists who pilfered from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, the bandmates nevertheless became major stars in 1993. And the influence of those bands was apparent in their music, although Stone Temple Pilots did manage to change things around a bit. STP were more concerned with tight song structure and riffs than punk rage. Their closest antecedents were not the Sex Pistols or Hüsker Dü; instead the band resembled arena rock acts from the '70s -- they made popular hard rock that sounded good on the radio and in concert. No matter what the critics said, Stone Temple Pilots had undeniably catchy riffs and production; there's a reason why over three million people bought their debut album, Core, and why their second album, Purple, shot to number one when it was released.

Description: The brilliant film in all respects. Melville , the famous master of the detective genre , this film has surpassed not only themselves, but also the genre . The opening lines of the film makes it clear that this will not be an ordinary detective. It will be a parable .
Epigraph : " There is no more profound loneliness, solitude than the samurai , except, perhaps, lonely tiger in the jungle ." As said something! Titers against static impressionistkoy pictures , entirely woven from the pastel colors, shades and tones , the room in a cheap hotel , standing on a table cell with a canary ... how it all brilliantly done!
And then the development is in the jazz vein : how this dynamic action not, but there is a theme and this theme through a lot of non-standard smooth and quiet interpretations. The assassin Castello by Delon (played at all times! ) Honestly fulfills his money , living on solid principles, but it is only this one , no one else principles are not necessary ... everyone lives by himself, coming up with excuses for their actions . Castello cheat and he begins to take revenge .
Probably for the film Delon said no more than two dozen words , and the other actors are laconic and give the viewer the solution under the film , tune in to his wave and empathy for the wonderful music . And what about the chase in the Paris Metro ? Yes, it's not even chase in the traditional sense of the word, and the subtlest nuances and pauses the game !
A police officer in the performance of François Perrier very organic, elegant and Nathalie Delon , and Cathy Rosier extremely elegant in their roles . But most importantly ... Released in February 2003, Kentucky Mountain Music is the type of box set that will have old-time music lovers drawing up their holiday wish-list early. A roots music novice will probably question the size and scope of the set: Why would one state, after all, need seven full discs to document its music? But devotees know that (a) Yazoo wouldn't put out anything but a quality product and (b) Kentucky holds more old-time musical riches than most states. As Richard Nevins notes, "no other state comes even close in both terms of fascinating diversity of styles and prodigious amounts of great performances."

Each disc contains 22-25 performances including fiddle tunes, string band music, and vocals from the 1920s and 1930s. A number of well-respected names make multiple appearances including Burnett and Rutherford, Buell Kazee, and Fiddlin' Doc Roberts. There are a number of fine cuts from Jimmy Johnson String Band ("Gate to Go Through" and "Drink More Cider"), and Taylor's Kentucky Boys ("The Dixie Cowboy" and "Forked Deer"). There's a fun, snappy version of "Hot Corn" by Martin and Roberts, and some nifty banjo work by Henry L. Bandy on "Five Up." There are also oddities like Bill Bundy's "Poison in a Glass of Wine," about a jealous boy who poisons both himself and his true love, and the whimsical instrumental by the Fiddlin' Doc Roberts trio called "Honeymoon Stomp."

The overall sound quality is good, though, as the liner notes point out, old recordings offer their share of problems when it comes to fidelity. The field recordings in particular were poorly recorded, leaving less room for improvement. Many kinks, however, have been ironed out, and fans will be thankful to have these recordings. Kentucky Mountain Music is a lovingly completed box set that will prove the perfect present for old-time fanatics everywhere.

Circa 1970, Elton helped pay the rent and gain studio expertise as a session vocalist for British quickie budget exploitation LPs that "re-created" the sound of current hit singles.
This is a recording of Sir Elton from his earliest days. These songs pre-date Your Song. They are interesting interpretations of songs that were popular at the time they were recorded. It was not unusual for new artists to perform the hits of other performers. It was what their audiences often wanted and presented consumers with something recognizable from a new talent. Now that Elton has matured as a performer and composer, there is no 'need' for him to cover the songs of others. These covers for the most part ARE NOT faithful to the originals. Elton has sung these songs like the Reg Dwight of 1970 would have (and obviously did). For this purpose, the CD should be looked upon as a time-piece, not a NEW album that is somehow 30+ years old.
